2020 Data Showcase Unveils New Community Data Booklet
Sioux City, Iowa – Source For Siouxland, Growing Community Connections and Healthy Siouxland Initiative hosted their annual Data Showcase on Thursday, October 8, 2020 through Zoom. The 2020 Data Report was unveiled to the 135 community partners in attendance. Additionally, the Showcase featured expert speakers who addressed data from Source For Siouxland’s five focus areas: Economic Stability, Education, Health, Safety and Quality of Life.
Expert Speakers:
(Economic Stability) Chris McGowan serves as the President of the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce and The Siouxland Initiative (TSI). A licensed attorney in the State of Iowa, McGowan has been involved in economic development efforts in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota for fifteen years.
(Education) Dr. Burnight is currently serving as the Director of Elementary Education. He has demonstrated a history of working as a transformative leader in education. In his current role, he is responsible for the educational process for students from preschool through fifth grade.
(Health) Michelle Lewis, Health Promotion and Planning Coordinator, has been with Siouxland District Health Department in Sioux City, IA since 2007. She oversees several programs that focus on health promotion/chronic disease prevention and also facilitates the community health needs assessment process that is completed every three years for the Siouxland area.
(Safety) Dave Dawson, Assistant Woodbury County Attorney is an experienced attorney with a demonstrated history of working effectively as a prosecutor and defense attorney. Skilled in Trial Practice, Nonprofit Organizations, Legal Compliance, Government, and Grassroots Organizing.
(Quality of Life) Erica DeLeon, Director of One Siouxland, works to help ensure that everyone who calls Siouxland ‘home’ is able to access the educational, civic, and economic opportunities in our community. She loves to Connect the people, organizations, and programs that make Siouxland a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
