Our area of focus this week is Safety. Source For Siouxland measures a variety of safety indicators to ensure our community remains a safe place to live and reside.

In 2021, we selected key indicators related to our objectives. These indicators were compared to similar regional and national indicators to determine what part of the “Thriving Community” gauge each focus area falls under. Our current indicators put Safety in the yellow portion of the gauge. While some indicators have remained stable or improved in the past few years, preventing abuse and neglect in the community could use enhanced community support. Check out more Safety data here.
