The following chart is the Total Confirmed New Siouxland COVID-19 Cases by Week.  This past week there were 313 new cases. This data is for Dakota County, NE; Plymouth and Woodbury County, IA; and Union County, SD.

*On 8/19, the Iowa Department of Public Health changed their reporting to reflect the date the test was taken and not the date the report was received. The cases effected by this change would be linked back to previous weeks.

As of Sunday, April 4, 2021, there were 24,673 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the tri-state area. Charts for April 2020 through February 2021 may be found on the SFS website at www.sourceforsiouxland.com.

Total Deaths due to Covid-19 in the Tri-State area as of 4/4/21 are 406, up two from last week.  Woodbury County=219 (up two from last week), Dakota County=67 (same as last week), Union County=41 (same as last week), and Plymouth County=79 (same as last week).

**NOTE:  On 12/9/20, the Iowa Dept. of Public Health (IDPH) changed how deaths are recorded to better align with what is happening nationally and are reflected in these numbers.

***NOTE:  On 2/2/21, deaths were readjusted by IDPH due to the CDC readings of death certificates—deaths did not all occur during this time period.

****NOTE: On 2/10/21, Iowa changed the way it displayed information on its website.  They now list the total number of positive tests instead of individuals that tested positive (cases).  Therefore, Woodbury County has 14,936 and Plymouth County has 3,942.  The SFS data reflects individuals and not the positive tests.

Counties include Woodbury and Plymouth, Iowa; Dakota, Nebraska; and Union, South Dakota.  Composite data compiled by Source For Siouxland from Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota Health Departments, Siouxland District Health Department, and the Dakota County Health Department.
